Biography

Master in Arts, PhD in Education, and graduate in Social Communication (UFMT).

 

A woman from the Terena people, she is a researcher, university professor, curator, and art educator. In 2012, she founded a cultural enterprise called Oráculo: Communication, Education, and Culture, which promotes active participation of diverse agents in the fields of arts, education, culture, and communication. She organized the anthology of Indigenous writers Tempos (Sustainable Publishing, 2021) and authored the e-book Indigenous Art in Brazil: Mediatization, Erasure, and Rites of Passage in 2022. She was honored as a Master of Culture of Mato Grosso (Brazil, 2020/2021).

She curated the exhibition Véxoa: Nós sabemos (Pinacoteca de São Paulo and Tufts University), a section of the Festival Desenho Vivo (DF), was part of the curatorial team of the CURA Urban Art Circuit, the Rec-Tyty Virtual Exhibition, Cine Curumin, A Century from Now (Itaú Cultural), and served on the judging committee of the 13th International Architecture Biennale, among other curatorial projects. She taught in the Specialization in Cultural Management program at Itaú Cultural Institute, where she also contributed as a columnist, and in the Intercultural Indigenous Master's program at the State University of Mato Grosso. She acted as a consultant for developing an Indigenous curatorship for the Paraná Museum.

 

In 2023, she undertook residencies at North American universities, aiming to conduct public activities in art and culture. From 2023 to 2024, she served as Director of Artistic and Cultural Training at the Ministry of Culture during its first cycle.

 

As an artist, her work focuses on exploring art and technology, as well as textile art and installations. She has participated in exhibitions such as Heart in the Village and Feet in the World (SESC Piracicaba), Histórias Indígenas (MASP-SP), the collective exhibition Bio (UFMT), the virtual exhibition Cultures of Anti-racism in Latin America (University of Manchester), and Hãhãw: Antiracist Indigenous Art, among others.
